I Am Honored

I have written poetry for myself for most of my life, and it has always amazed me when somebody liked anything I’ve written, so I have to say that I am incredibly honored that Rodger Sellers, Pastor of the Portico Presbyterian Church over in Charlotte not only found and read the poem I wrote, “into your way of peace“, but he liked it so much that he posted it in his Lenten Blog!  Wow.

I have read some of the most recent posts on that Lenten Blog, and I really like what I’ve read!  I very highly recommend the post “A Negative Times A Negative Equals A Positive?“.  It is excellent, and makes such a powerful point about the nature of repentance.

About Valarie

I love to travel and spend time with old friends. I enjoy cool Autumn nights, Summer Lightning Bugs and Spring Thunderstorms. I love my cats, and cannot imagine life without them. :) I write some poetry, and some short stories. Nothing paradigm shifting. I love being Catholic. I enjoy crochet, cooking, and rock-n-roll. I'm easy to get along with, hard to offend, and loyal to the bitter end. My husband and my children are my heroes. Hmmm. . . not too much else to tell.

  1. Isn’t this idea of community via the web something no one saw coming? (And in fact, some say isn’t really possible!)

Roman Catholic moms and Presbyterians and… (fill in the blank) all celebrating the community (or communion) we have in the journey we’re all making together! (There’s an idea in this that I’m going to have to pull on for a while and post about.)

Who would have seen something like this 25 years ago!

Thanks again for joining us, speaking to us, and being on the journey with us! (I’ll keep looking for your Good Friday words!)

:) I agree. Surely this is what Jesus would have wanted, that we all be ‘one’ as he and the Father are one. . .and indeed, all on the same journey!

I’m one of Rodger’s ‘kids’ that he talks to and I attend his worship on Suday nights…
I’m also a poet like you, and I’ve got to say, your poem is wonderful! It really captured my heart; if you’d like to hear some of my poems any time, just drop me a line. =D *Christian poem buddies*

I’ll send you an email as soon as I can. Rodger [who is in my living room] says hello.
