This is from the “It Doesn’t Take Much to Make Me Happy Department” – I was about to head up the stairs to bed tonight when I heard guitar music. Now, that’s not unusual. Alex plays guitar a lot, and he’s getting really good at it. He usually writes his own stuff. But tonight, I recognized the notes! He was learning to play Stairway To Heaven!! I ran up the stairs and burst into his room, thrilled!
Um. . . okay, I get that most parents want more out of their children than for them to grow up and be able to play guitar. I trust that this will not be Alex’s biggest accomplishment ever! But ah. . . what sweet music! How awesome that he is learning to play one of the all-time greatest songs, just for me! Rock on, Alex!!!
